With their debut album “Sleep Like Submarines” under their belt, Canadian alternative rock band Waterbodies have released their hauntingly, heavy album entitled “Floresta”.

Combining dark melodic music, with faint yet endearingly expansive vocals, “Floresta” offers listeners an introspective look at the band. The album puts things at opposition; matching heavy drums with light glockenspiel lines, and shadowy vocals with deep bass tones and dissonant guitars.

Already being described as “emotional, atmospheric rock” by The Brock Press, Floresta is gaining the attention of those in the know. Managing Editor of VIEW Magazine, Jordy Yack deciphered the track from “Floresta” entitled “It Suits You Well” saying that “[it] moves with a brooding build–up, that’s very Thom Yorke–ian in the way it expands with xylophone and keyboards until it finally breaks within the last minute of the song.” Furthermore he continued to comment on “Crippled English” saying that “it’s a sprawling, beautiful mess that could give bands like Explosions in the Sky a run for their money.”

Waterbodies is currently seeking reviews, interviews and other press to support the release of “Floresta”.
